Are you missing the “fun” factor lately while playing ladder ?
Valeera has your back (this time)…
Nerfs are imminent and most of us are just looking to have some fun right now on ladder. This is why we’re changing things up a bit and we’re bringing you a “Rogue Special” of the high legend series.
We’ve brought you four competitive Rogue decks to try out on ladder.
All of these decks aren’t your traditional cookie cutter “meta decks”, they are innovative and high legend viable.
Every decklist is also accompanied by additional info on how to play the deck, how to mulligan and a few pointers. In order for you to pick up the deck and start playing right away.
The Curator rogue may seem like a wacky deck, but don’t jump the gun on this one, because it’s been performing very well for “Quatro”, a polish Hearthstone player.
His #3 Legend achievement inspired others to make the climb to legend with this unique deck.
Definitely a deck to try out if you are looking for something refreshing & strong to play.
Curator Rogue seems to go two routes: either you will win by board control & thus outvalueing your opponent, or you will be forced to play as the aggressor. It depends a lot on the situation you’re in and if your hand contains “value” cards such as: Finja, the Flying Star & The Curator.
However, in most situations you will have to establish early game board control, using tools like Backstab, Argent Horserider or the pirate package, to make sure you are not getting overrun by turn 4.
The midgame is where this deck shines the most, because you are running a lot of strong 5-drops such as: Finja, the Flying Star, Stranglethorn Tiger, Azure Drake you will either be able to take over board control or just start rushing them down with mid-game aggression.
If you are looking for some additionnal information about the deck check out Quatro’s Hearthpwn post: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/735171-3-legend-quatros-beast-murloc-rogue
Murlocs are definitely finding their way into the competitive scene. Rdu was experimenting with aggro Rogue on ladder and tried out the Murloc Package. He managed to hold top 20 legend with the list and even peaked at #6 Legend.
Both the strategy and mulligan are very similar to regular aggro rogue, It’s extremely important you establish early game board control. You want to remove your enemies’ board efficiently while developing your own, using tools such as: Backstab, The Coin + SI:7 Agent, or your dagger as removal.
However you cannot keep trading, you need to close games fast. Use Cold Blood preferably on a harder to remove minion to start pushing face damage. Close out the game with Leeroy Jenkins, weapon burst, chargers. Running Finja, the Flying Star. the murloc package enables you to fight more for board control if you need to, sometimes it’s just extra burst damage.
WiRer really enjoys innovating he is one of those players who isn’t all that interested in playing meta decks 24/7. This also showed during the winter playoffs where he brought control warrior and control (resurrect Shaman). This time around he surprises everybody with a high legend climb using Malygos Rogue. Note that this deck is quite slow and will have a hard time keeping up with aggro.
Your goal is to survive throughout the early game, so that you can start cycling into your combo pieces.
After the early game onslaught attempt to fight for board control and get some cycle going, a cheesy Barnes or Edwin VanCleef might speed up that process. The faster you can cycle into your combo pieces the easier it will be burn down your opponent. Note that in some games you might not even need the Malygos at all.
After seeing Aggro Rogue pop up multiple times during the HCT winter playoffs a lot of players have started to experiment on ladder. Aggro Rogue seems to be performing relatively well against both aggro and reno decks, having the early game package to keep up with aggro and the aggression needed to “SMorc” down Reno decks. Multiple rank 1 legend player “Feno” made it to #4 Legend with his take on Aggro Rogue.
It’s extremely important you establish early game board control. You want to remove your enemies’ board efficiently while developing your own, using tools such as: Backstab, The Coin + SI:7 Agent, or your dagger as removal.

On the Malygos Rogue decklist, Thalnos is listed as 2 cards, with a missing 30th card.
Should be a second Gadgetzan.
I believe its auctioneer

Here’s a version with more stealth stuff that Machamp played to high legend on Asia:
