Esport News: We get two victories in the ESL Benelux Cup

And we take home two victories at
the ESL Benelux Esports Championship!

The yearly ESL Benelux Winter Championships took place last weekend at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. The Low Countries’ best esports players were competing in the most popular competitive games, all eager to take home the trophee.

We participated in two tournament: Hearthstone® (Blizzard Entertainment) and League of Legends® (Riot Games). At the end of the day, brought home gold medals in both competitions!

HEARTHSTONE

Arne ‘Arneej’ Huysegoms, Nick ‘Babbelbox’ Maatman and Matthias ‘Sjoesie’ Lootens , made up three of the four competitors in the semi finals. The last slot went to Mcon’s Narra, the defending champion. Sjoesie defeated both Mcon Narra and Arneej, earning himself first place. The winner of the Hearthstone competition walked away with a prize of €1,000.

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

After winning the Belgian championship in October during Gameforce, our boys took home the prize for the ESL Benelux Winter Championships as well. The team survived seven rounds in the group phase and became one of the final four teams with a chance to win the title ‘Best in the Benelux’. During the group phase, we didn’t drop a single game and after an enormously stressful semi final against Dorans, they went on to the final round. Team Echo Zulu put up a good fight, but we came out on top, taking home a gigantic trophy and a prizepool of €3,500.
